James, one of our technology alchemists, worked with a leading UK fintech company that had built its institutional dealing platform at pace. With volumes now regularly hitting 80k/day and up, key aspects of the smart order routing and settlement infrastructure were creaking. This was impacting the ability of high-volume wealth and fund management clients to achieve the volumes they required.

The solution

James led the design and delivery of a replacement execution and settlement architecture, delivered into the cloud enabling independent auto-scaling of components to balance capacity and cost. The solution provided a new API layer which enabled additional connectivity options for the fintech's clients, providing a more real-time experience for the end customer.

These changes significantly enhanced the capacity to handle greater trading volumes at higher frequency, and created an improved experience for the end client.
